Philosophy
JNA Institute of Culinary Arts is dedicated to turning out well-trained graduates. The faculty, using modern educational techniques, teach the students in a realistic job setting. Hands-on training is stressed, but theory and relevant course work are also used to provide our students with the necessary background and experience to become successes.
History
JNA Institute of Culinary Arts has provided quality training for the food service industry since 1988. With a strong concern for educational excellence and a proud record of job placement, the school maintains an excellent reputation among students, graduates, and employers throughout the Philadelphia area.
In 1992 the school was recognized by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, State Board of Private Licensed Schools and was granted a License to operate as a private licensed school.
In February of 1994 the school became accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT).
In 1999 the Alpha Beta Kappa National Honor Society authorized the establishment of the "Iota of Pennsylvania" Chapter at the school.
In February of 2000 the school was re-accredited by ACCSCT for a second 5 year period, an indicator of the school's efforts towards excellence.
General Information
The school offers both a two academic year Associate of Specialized Technology Degree program and a one academic year diploma program in Restaurant Management and Culinary Arts. Full time students can obtain their Associate Degree in as little as 16 months through a industry realistic full day schedule or use a more traditional college schedule and complete in two years.
Course offerings include: Sauces, Meat, Fish, & Poultry Cookery, Vegetable, Rice, & Pasta Cookery, Cakes, Nutrition, Bar & Beverage Management, & Catering Menu Management.
The school's enrollment of 67 represents 7 states and 4 countries. The school's enrollment provides small classes for students to learn and practice their newly acquired skills, while the diverse population provides a unique cultural experience.
