Learn how to cook in a small group in a townhouse kitchen located near the Dupont Circle. Classes are hands-on and run for about two hours, followed by generous samplings of the foods served at a sit-down dinner with appropriate beverages and wine. A specific technique or an international menu is the basis for each class. Small groups master a specific technique or an international or regional dinner. Highlights include Food from the Movies; (Big Night, Like Water for Chocolate): Pacific Rim; (Sushi, Chinese New Year): The International Vegetarian; (Bistro, Middle Eastern Melange):: Celebrations; (Thanksgiving, Red and Gold New Year's Brunch.): Contemporary Cuisine; (Spa, East Meets West). $40 per class or $175 for a five class series. Classes begin Sept.10, 7:30 p.m.
